1. Confirm your flight reservations 2 days before departure and see if you can pre-book seats
2. Stop deliveries (newspapers, milk, etc)
3. Arrange for care of pets, garden, plants, lawn
4. Set up a timed lighting system and set curtains blinds or drapes for a lived-in look
5. Leave house key with trusted neighbour or relative
6. Empty your refrigerator of anything that may go bad
7. Empty all of your (in the house) rubbish bins - especially from the kitchen
8. Turn off lights, unplug appliances, turn down the heating
9. Store valuables in safe place
10. Lock all doors and windows
